Elijah Brown, Founder of StrikeX Combat MMA Fighter

Why this product exists

I had the same problem you have. So I built the solution.

I'm Elijah Brown: active MMA competitor, former D2 wrestler, and founder of StrikeX Combat. I've been competing in combat sports since I was 7 years old. When I hit a plateau in my striking output and couldn't find resistance training gear built specifically for striking athletes, I went looking. What I found was either cheap, gimmicky, or messed with my natural movement so badly that I stopped using it after a week. So I spent months building it myself through prototyping, testing in real sessions, rebuilding when it wasn't right. The Shadow Striker is what I train with before every session. Every detail came from real frustration with the gap in the market, and the real results I needed to fill it.

Stop Guessing. Start with the Right Resistance.

Both band types are included with every Shadow Striker. Here's how to use them.

Red Bands

“My hands feel slow and my technique breaks down late in rounds.”

15lb

Speed & Endurance

  • Overloads the striking movement pattern your muscles need to grow
  • Builds the shoulder endurance to keep your output strong late in rounds
  • Sharpens technique by making sloppy punches immediately noticeable
  • Ideal starting point for beginners and speed-focused training

Best for: Beginners, speed training, endurance rounds, technique work

Black Bands

“I'm training hard but my power output has plateaued.”

30lb

Power & Explosiveness

  • Forces full hip and core rotation (where real power actually comes from)
  • Recruits fast-twitch muscle fibers most training never reaches
  • Short, brutal intervals that build the output serious fighters need
  • “I could barely last 2 rounds.” That's the proof it's working.

Best for: Experienced fighters, power training, knockout conditioning

Not sure where to start? Start with red. Your hands will tell you when you're ready for black.

Your Problem Has a Name. And a Fix.

Whoever you are, whatever you train — the Shadow Striker was built for the gap in your training.

🥊

Boxers

Your hands aren't getting faster because shadow boxing alone doesn't overload the movement. You'll throw faster combinations and feel your punches snap harder within sessions.

🥋

MMA Fighters

The Shadow Striker gives you sport-specific striking resistance anywhere. No bag, no partner, no gym required.

👊

Muay Thai & Kickboxers

Your output drops in the later rounds because your shoulders aren't built for sustained resistance. This will help round 4 will feel like round 1.

🏠

Home Gym Athletes

Shadow boxing at home feels like going through the motions. The Shadow Striker makes every session real work. No bag, no partner, no excuses.

📋

Coaches & Trainers

Your clients are plateauing because they need a new stimulus. Give them a tool that produces visible, feelable results fast. They'll feel it in session one.

All Levels Welcome

Whether you've been training for 10 years or 10 days, the Shadow Striker meets you exactly where you are. Start with red. Graduate to black. Grow as you go.

Problem Why most fighters stop improving — and how to fix it

The problem: You train consistently, but your hands aren't getting faster. Your power output has plateaued. You're putting in the rounds but the results aren't showing up in sparring, fights, or the mirror. That's not a work ethic problem. It's a stimulus problem. Your body adapts to whatever you repeatedly throw at it — and if you're training with the same resistance every session, your muscles stop growing.

The fix: The Shadow Striker uses resistance overload training — the same science elite athletes have used for decades to break through speed and power plateaus. Strap it on and every punch you throw meets real resistance. Your fast-twitch muscle fibers are forced to recruit harder. Your shoulder endurance builds. Your rotational power through the hips and core compounds into the kind of output that shows in the ring, the cage, and the gym.

Remove the bands mid-session and you'll immediately feel your hands move faster — lighter, snappier, more fluid than they've ever felt. That's the overspeed effect. Train consistently and those gains become permanent. Your plateau doesn't end when you train harder. It ends when you train smarter. Strap in.

Problem Why shadow boxing without resistance is holding you back

The problem: Shadow boxing is one of the most important tools in a fighter's training arsenal — but most fighters secretly know it's not doing enough. You're moving, you're throwing, but without feedback or resistance, it's easy to go through the motions. Your technique gets sloppy. Your rounds lose intensity. You finish and wonder if you actually did anything.

The fix: The Shadow Striker turns every shadow boxing session into real work. The resistance bands create constant push-back against every punch you throw, which means you can't be lazy. You feel when your technique breaks down. You feel when your rotation is off. You feel every round in your shoulders, your core, your fast-twitch fibers — because they're actually working. And when you unclip the bands and throw your next combination, you'll feel the difference immediately. Your hands will snap. Your combinations will flow. That's not a feeling you forget.

What's in the box
  • 4x Red resistance bands (15lb each) — your speed and endurance weapon
  • 4x Black resistance bands (30lb each) — your power and explosiveness weapon
  • 1x Adjustable STRIKEX chest harness — fits most adult body sizes, moves with you naturally
  • 2x Adjustable STRIKEX wrist cuffs — secure, comfortable, stays in place every round

Everything arrives ready to use. No tools, no setup, no instructions needed. Strap in and start your first round within minutes of opening the box.

Which resistance level is right for you

Red Bands — 15lb  |  Start here if you want faster hands
The problem with most speed training is that it doesn't actually overload the movement pattern. Red bands fix that. Every jab, every cross, every combination meets real resistance — enough to force your fast-twitch fibers to fire harder, but not so much that it breaks your form. Perfect for 3–5 round sessions, combination drills, and shoulder conditioning. This is where your technique gets sharper and your output starts to build.

Black Bands — 30lb  |  For when you want power that actually shows
Most fighters never train at the intensity needed to build real knockout power. Black bands force the issue. Short, brutal intervals that recruit every fast-twitch fiber you have. One of our users said it best: “I could barely last 2 rounds.” That's not a complaint — that's the proof it's working. This is where your punching power gets built.

Not sure where to start? Start with red. When 3 rounds feels manageable, move to black. When black feels manageable, run the contrast method. You'll know when you're ready — your hands will tell you.

3 drills to run on day one
Drill 01 — The Speed Round (Red Bands)

Red bands. 3-minute round. Throw fast, loose combinations — jab-cross, jab-cross-hook. Focus on snap, not power. Keep your hands up, stay light on your feet. Rest 60 seconds. Repeat 3 rounds. When you unclip the bands after round 3, notice what your hands feel like. That feeling is why you bought this.

Drill 02 — The Power Push (Black Bands)

Black bands. 90-second intervals, maximum intensity. Drive your cross and body shots with full hip and core rotation. 4 rounds: 90 seconds on, 90 seconds off. If you're not gassed by round 3, you're not going hard enough. This is where your punching power gets built — not at the gym, not on the heavy bag. Right here, with nothing but space and resistance.

Drill 03 — The Contrast Method

This one changes things. 2 rounds with black bands. 1 round with red. Final round with nothing on. Your unloaded hands will move faster than they ever have. Your combinations will flow like they never have. This is the overspeed effect at full force — and once you feel it, you'll never go back to training without it.

Problem Why most resistance gear fails fighters

The problem: Most resistance training tools for fighters either restrict your natural movement, feel awkward after 30 seconds, or add resistance in the wrong places. You end up training around the gear instead of training with it — which means your technique suffers and you stop using it after a week.

Why the Shadow Striker is different: It was designed by someone who trains. Every detail — the chest harness placement, the wrist cuff positioning, the band attachment points — was tested through real rounds, real sparring, and real frustration with everything else on the market. The resistance works with your natural punching mechanics, not against them. You still move freely. You still throw clean combos. You just do it with more demand on every rep. That's exactly what your muscles need to grow.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a heavy bag, gym, or training partner?

No — and that's the point. The Shadow Striker was designed specifically to solve the problem of needing equipment or a partner to get quality striking work in. No bag. No partner. No gym membership required. All you need is enough space to throw punches and the willingness to work.

What if I'm a beginner?

Start with red bands and shorter rounds. The Shadow Striker grows with your fitness level — you're not locked into a resistance level that's too heavy to maintain clean technique. Most beginners feel the overspeed effect in their very first session, which is one of the most motivating experiences you can have in training.

How long until I notice results?

You'll feel the overspeed effect the first time you remove the bands mid-session. That snap and speed is immediate. Measurable improvements in punch speed, power output, and shoulder endurance typically develop within 2–4 weeks of consistent training, 3–4 sessions per week.

Will it mess with my natural punching technique?

This is the most common concern — and it's valid. Most resistance tools do mess with your movement. The Shadow Striker was designed specifically to prevent this. The harness and cuff placement works with your natural mechanics. You still move freely. You still throw clean combinations. Multiple users have noted: “It doesn't mess up your movement. You still feel free, just with more work on every punch.”

Does it work for Muay Thai and kickboxing?

Yes. While optimized for boxing and MMA hand striking, it works for any combat sport involving punching. The wrist cuff attachment is compatible with any striking style and the shoulder endurance gains transfer directly to Muay Thai and kickboxing output.

What is your return policy?

30 days, no questions asked. Train with it. If you don't feel the difference — in your speed, your endurance, or your output — return it for a full refund. We're confident you won't need to.

I've been boxing for a while and I've used enough gear to know pretty fast when something is useful and when it's just a cool idea. This is useful. The quality is there right away but what made me keep using it was how natural it feels once you start punching with it. It adds resistance without making everything stiff or awkward.

Wanted to leave a real review after a few weeks with it. The straps feel durable, the cuffs are comfortable, and the whole thing feels secure once it's on. I can feel when I'm getting lazy and I can feel the difference when I take it off. Hands feel quicker and everything feels lighter. That alone made it worth the time.

I usually never type all this out but I've genuinely liked this product a lot. The resistance feels smooth, not jerky. You can still move the way you want to move. You can still throw clean combos. It just adds more demand to every punch and every round.

I've had mine for a bit now and it still looks and feels great. Holds up well. The cuffs stay secure and the straps feel strong. That mattered to me and it delivered.

I train mostly for fitness now but I still want my gear to feel legit and not watered down. This does. What I noticed most was how much more focused my rounds became. Every combo had intent. Every round felt like it had a purpose.
